Entering the UAE without a visa
Polish citizens can travel to the United Arab Emirates without a visa if their stay does not exceed 90 days within a 180-day period. Visa-free travel covers tourism, cultural and scientific purposes, and visits to family and friends.
The condition for visa-free entry is holding a valid passport (ordinary, diplomatic, service or special), which must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. Temporary passports do not entitle the holder to enter the UAE - they are accepted only for transit or when leaving the country.
Working in the UAE
Taking up any work in the UAE requires an appropriate work visa. Exceptions to this rule apply to:
- Business owners travelling for business meetings (who do not take up employment locally),
- Sportspeople and artists performing on an ad hoc basis,
- Journalists sent by foreign media,
- Trainees completing placements within the same company.
In every other case, the obligation to obtain a visa lies with the employer, sponsor or organiser of the stay. They submit the relevant applications to the immigration authority competent for the Emirate in which the work or business activity will be carried out.
Work visa and conditions of stay
After taking up employment or - in some Emirates - purchasing a property, a person receives a residence visa valid for 2 years. This visa allows not only legal work but also free movement within the UAE.
Detailed information on obtaining a visa can be found on the website of the UAE Ministry of Interior or at the UAE Embassy in Warsaw.
Evidence of travel to Israel
The UAE authorities do not place obstacles in the way of people whose passports contain visas or other evidence of a stay in Israel. Such travellers can enter the Emirates without additional difficulties.
