Business accounts

IBAN account for your business outside traditional banking

Do you run a business and want greater independence in managing its funds? Through our cooperation with the international financial platform Stable.com powered by Unlimit, we offer our Clients the option of opening an IBAN account issued in the name of the company - your company (or business) is the owner of the account. The account is held outside the traditional banking model and supports international payments: currency exchange, foreign transfers, payment cards and stablecoins.

An IBAN account can be opened by a limited liability company (sp. z o.o.), a sole proprietorship and other types of company - entirely remotely. Stable.com serves companies from around 100 jurisdictions, so on a single platform you can register, for example, a Polish sp. z o.o., a UK LTD or even a UAE company. One account handles 22 currencies, and in the same dashboard every client has access to a DeFi module with stablecoins.

How it works

An IBAN account with an electronic money institution

The account is held within the platform's financial infrastructure, not under a bank account model. Formally, it is an account with an electronic money institution (EMI) - a licensed and supervised entity that accepts funds, maintains an account with an IBAN and executes transfers, but is not a bank and does not grant loans.

For a business owner, this means a solution that is independent of their main bank account - a second, parallel channel for handling company funds.

  • Your own IBAN for the company - support for as many as 22 currencies on one account, with incoming and outgoing transfers in each of them.
  • Competitive currency exchange in a very wide range of currency pairs - directly in the account, with no intermediaries.
  • Payment cards - physical and virtual; virtual cards work with Google Pay and Apple Pay.
  • Online banking and a mobile app, plus transfers to more than 120 countries through various payment channels (SWIFT, SEPA, SEPA Instant and others).
  • No branch visit - the IBAN account is opened and managed entirely remotely.
  • A solution for companies operating in Poland and abroad.
  • We guide the Client through the opening process, step by step.

Who provides the IBAN account

Stable.com is a financial platform operating under the licences of Unlimit group companies - on the market for over 17 years, with EMI regulation in the EU and the UK and MiCA in the EU.

European Union: Unlimit EU Ltd - an electronic money institution licence issued by the Central Bank of Cyprus, number 115.1.3.7.

United Kingdom: Unlimit UK Ltd - a licence from the UK regulator, the FCA, reference number 978706.

Both licences can be checked in the regulators' public registers: the EBA register and the FCA register.

Who it is for

Greater independence. Greater control.

This solution is for business owners who want to:

Diversify business accounts

Avoid keeping all funds in one place with one provider.

Separate part of the funds

Set money aside for a specific purpose - a project, a foreign market, an operating reserve.

Increase payment flexibility

Use modern financial infrastructure alongside a bank account.

Reduce dependence on a single bank

Have a backup solution when the main account is unavailable.

Opening an account

Four steps, no branch visit

An IBAN account can be opened by a Polish limited liability company (sp. z o.o.), a sole proprietorship and other types of company - including foreign ones, such as a UK LTD or a UAE company (Stable.com serves companies from around 100 jurisdictions). We guide you through the whole process - from the first conversation to an active account.

  1. Free consultation. We check whether the account makes sense for your business and present the costs.
  2. Documents. Together with you, we prepare the complete set of documents for company verification (KYB).
  3. Verification. Approximately 4-7 working days, or 1-2 days with the express option (an additional paid service). A simple sole proprietorship usually passes more quickly, while a company with a complex ownership structure takes somewhat longer.
  4. Account active. The company receives its own IBAN and access to online banking and the mobile app. The app is installed immediately after the account is opened - it is also used for two-step login. We help you record the account correctly in the books.

Which documents are needed

The exact list depends on the company's profile. Most often these are:

  • the articles of association or statute (or their equivalent),
  • registration documents - shareholders, board, registered office address (e.g. an extract from the National Court Register (KRS) or an entry in the Central Registration and Information on Business (CEIDG)),
  • tax identification number (NIP),
  • CVs of the beneficial owners - a public LinkedIn profile is enough; sometimes a statement from their account is also required,
  • information about the business: main counterparties, website, sample contracts or invoices.

The account for clients from Poland is provided by Unlimit EU Ltd, and the IBAN is issued in Cyprus (prefix CY).

Included as standard

IBAN account and DeFi in one dashboard

Every Stable.com client automatically gets access to the "DeFi" module. The platform combines a classic IBAN account with services related to stablecoins - crypto-assets pegged to a currency, such as the dollar or the euro - in a single dashboard. These services are provided by Unlimit Crypto Ltd, a licensed crypto-asset service provider. Stablecoins go to a wallet controlled by the company - the platform does not hold the client's funds.

Buying and selling

Buying stablecoins with zloty and other currencies, and selling them with a payout of the funds.

Swapping between networks

Moving a stablecoin from one network to another, e.g. from Ethereum to Solana, usually within a few minutes.

Popular stablecoins

USDT, USDC, PYUSD, USD1, FDUSD, USDP, USDG, RLUSD - availability depends on the network.

Multiple networks

Ethereum, Solana, BSC, Tron, TON, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Base, Celo, Optimism.

What it costs

A processing fee and a network fee are charged on purchases and sales. The amount of the fees depends on the sum, the payment method and the company's individual pricing. Before each transaction is confirmed, the calculator shows the rate and a full breakdown of fees; the rate is not guaranteed until the transaction is executed.

Who provides the services

Unlimit Crypto Ltd - a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) authorised by the Cypriot regulator CySEC under the EU MiCA regulation. The entity is listed in the ESMA register under LEI number 894500FFZOA2AVGYOA88 (the MiCA register on the ESMA website).

The platform operates on a non-custodial model: it does not hold the client's wallet, and stablecoins go to a wallet controlled by the company itself. Stablecoins are crypto-assets, not money in an account - they are not covered by deposit guarantees or an investor compensation scheme, and their value may deviate from the currency to which they are pegged.

Before you decide

What you need to know

We say this openly, because it determines whether the solution makes any sense for your business. An account with an electronic money institution is governed by different rules from a bank account.

  • This is not a bank account. The funds in the account are electronic money, not a deposit.
  • No deposit guarantee. Electronic money is not covered by the protection of the BFG or the UK's FSCS. The institution is, however, required to keep client funds separate from its own assets, in segregated accounts (safeguarding).
  • This is not protection against enforcement. The account is not meant to avoid the seizure of funds or obligations towards the tax authorities. The scope of powers of the authorities and enforcement bodies depends on the type of account, the entity holding the account and the applicable law.
  • Full identification and AML obligations. Opening an account requires verification of the company and its beneficial owners, and transactions are subject to monitoring and the exchange of tax information.
  • A foreign IBAN. The account has a Cypriot IBAN (CY). For active VAT payers this matters in relation to the VAT white list and split payment - before opening, we discuss which settlements the account is best suited to.
  • The account must be recorded correctly in the books. We help to put this in order - for accounting Clients we do it straight away.

Is this a bank account?

No. The account is provided by an electronic money institution, not a bank. It has its own IBAN and is used for business transfers, but the funds held in it are electronic money, not a bank deposit.

Are the funds covered by the BFG guarantee?

No. Electronic money is not covered by deposit guarantee schemes. The institution is, however, required to protect client funds - it keeps them separate from its own assets, in segregated accounts.

Does the account protect against enforcement?

No. It is not a way to avoid the seizure of funds or tax obligations. We explain the detailed rules for how the account works to the Client before it is opened.

Can a sole proprietorship (JDG) open an account?

Yes. The account can be opened by a sole proprietorship, a limited liability company (sp. z o.o.) and other types of company - including foreign ones, such as a UK LTD or a UAE company. The list of documents depends on the legal form and the profile of the business.

How long does it take to open an account?

Approximately 4-7 working days from submission of the complete documents, or 1-2 days with the express option for an additional fee. Usually shorter for a simple sole proprietorship, longer for a complex ownership structure.

How much does an IBAN account cost?

Pricing is set individually - after an analysis of the company (KYC/KYB), depending on the industry and scale of operations, including the expected foreign exchange turnover and number of transfers. We present the costs before the account is opened, and once verification begins the company is also assigned a dedicated account manager at Unlimit.

Where are purchased stablecoins stored?

In a wallet controlled by the company itself. The DeFi module in Stable.com operates on a non-custodial model - the platform does not hold the client's wallet, and transfers are made from a wallet owned by the company.

Do I have to be your accounting client?

It is not a requirement. For Clients whose accounts we keep, we prepare the entire account-opening process and help to use the account properly in the business.
